Local History

By ‘local’ we mean Brighton, Hove and Portslade, although we sometimes stray as far as Shoreham, Lewes and Seaford.
We meet weekly to share knowledge of our area with both long-standing residents and ‘newcomers’ who are curious to learn about their new home area.
We encourage members to undertake a little research – perhaps a person, a place, a building, an event, an activity or a time – and share that knowledge with us.
Occasionally we ask a local expert to come and talk to us, for which a fee of £1 each is requested.

Thes are ‘blended’ meetings – if you wish to join them via zoom, please contact the convenor for the meeting details.
